Like I said, there will be tons more info sooner than later, but for now this is what we got!

Selling Jesus.

1 Corinthians 1:17-18

I go to eat with a neighbor every week on Monday’s at a local spot he loves. He is an incredible man with lots of compassion for people and animals. He is one of the nicest persons I know, but hasn’t decided to accept Jesus as his Savior.

He knows the path I have chosen ( to become a spokesperson for Jesus Christ, aka Pastor) and admires my fervor for spreading my “religion.” Knowing that I go around and speak, and having seen me speak he tends to call me a great “salesman.” I take absolutely no offense to this, but rather find a good analogy and truth in all this.

As we prepare for yield up at CHS and as I prepare my lesson for yield up CHS I find myself looking for big words and even scientific and philosophical truths to prove Jesus. It’s interesting how even though I don’t consider myself a “salesman” I realize that in my preparations I’m sort of acting like one. I guess you could say I’m trying to “sell” Jesus.

Paul realized that the only thing he ever had to do was tell people who Jesus was. In his intro to his letter to Corinth he mentions that he was able to grasp the concept of simplicity in proclaiming Jesus.

I pray that my lesson for Yield Up CHS would be just that as well. In a culture where big words and science sells may I only proclaim who Jesus is.

Jesus is the Son of God. Lived a sinful life. Died on the cross for our sins. Raised from the death. Conquered sin.

May the truth of Jesus as our Savior be proclaimed to the city of Claremont! Join me in prayer!
